What is Angioplasty or PTCA?
  • A catheter is introduced through a little needle hole in the groin.A thin guide wire is passed through the catheter and across the blockage in the coronary artery.
  • A balloon-tipped catheter is then advanced over the wire. The balloon is inflated and the blockage opened.
