Treatment of CHF with ACE inhibitors

  • In patients with CHF, a "ration" system is maintains flow to vital organs like the brain, while flow to the skin and muscles is reduced.
  • The clamping of blood vessels increase the resistance against which the sick heart has to empty. ACE inhibitors help to reduce this resistance
